SPRING MILLS, W.Va. — Two Baltimore residents face charges in the death of a 2016 Spring Mills High School graduate.

Kelvin Johnson, 23, and Sykebia Stewart, 23, are each charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance in connection with the apparent overdose death of Jorge Armando Mercado-Medrano.
Two other males, including a juvenile also allegedly overdosed. Robert Haines was taken to The Berkeley Medical Center, and one of the juveniles was taken to a Hagerstown hospital.
“We’re still exploring felony murder and some other charges right now,” according to Berkeley County prosecuting attorney Pamela Games-Neely.
Reports that the incident happened at a graduation party of some sort are unconfirmed, Games-Neely said.

A complaint filed by West Virginia State Police Cpl. Brian Bean said Stewart and Johnson allegedly provided a controlled substance to Medrano, Robert Haines, Jr. and three juvenile boys Tuesday.
A 16-year-old remains in serious condition at Meritus Medical Center and Haines was in the intensive care unit at Berkeley Medical Center.
The Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force was continuing to investigate.
