CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — No one was injured when a small tornado ripped the roof off a barn and caused other damage at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races Wednesday.
The National Weather services reports the tornado touched down at about 8:15 last night at the entrance to the Jefferson Crossing Shopping Center on Flowing Springs Road, damaging a sign.
Seven stalls were left exposed when a section of roof was torn off and thrown into nearby power lines.
A telephone pole also snapped in half.
The tornado was classified as an EF-0, which is capable of having wind speeds of 65 to 85 mph.
