College student dies in fall

SANDY HOOK, Md. — A college student died Friday after a fall in the Maryland Heights area of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.

According to the National Park Service, the man was hiking up Maryland Heights and was walking along the edge of the cliff when he fell.

The man was with a friend when the accident occurred at shortly before 2:30 p.m. Friday.

His body was taken to the Maryland chief medical examiner’s office in Baltimore for an autopsy.
