Fugitive task force involved in fatal shooting near Hedgesville

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. —┬áThe U.S. Marshals, Mountain State Fugitive Task Force were involved in a line-of-duty fatal shooting near Hedgesville, W.Va., Thursday.

Captain E.D. Widmyer with the West Virginia State Police said in a statement the Marshals were attempting to arrest a suspect on armed robbery charges.

No law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.

The West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is the lead investigative agency on this incident.
