Arrests made following McDowell County shooting

RODERFIELD, W.Va. — Three arrests have been made following a drive-by shooting at a McDowell County residence.

West Virginia State Police said Welch Police responded to a call of a drive-by shooting early Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, they discovered the home’s residents were present at the time but not injured.

West Virginia State Police Trooper J.C. Woods assisted Welch Police with the investigation. They learned the incident was drug related.

Andre Smith, 25, and Brandon Dudleson, 21, were taken into custody. They each face 2 counts of Attempted Murder, 5 counts of Wanton Endangerment and Conspiracy.

Police later discovered Raheem Pounds, 24, was also involved. A search of his Welch residence resulted in the discovery of drugs. Pounds was arrested on two counts of Attempted Murder, five counts of Wanton Endangerment, Conspiracy and Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance.

Pounds is being held on $105,000 bond. Smith and Dudleson are each in custody under $80,000. All are detained at the McDowell County Holding Unit.
