University standout Richardson announces top seven schools

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — University rising senior standout receiver and defensive back Amir Richardson on Monday narrowed down his recruitment list to seven schools, including West Virginia and Marshall.

The list of schools include Army, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Marshall, Pitt, Temple and West Virginia.

Richardson, a three-star recruit according to Rivals, is listed at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds and received his first overall offer from West Virginia back in May of 2017.

During his junior season, Richardson finished with 48 catches for 714 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 15 yards per catch. Defensively, he collected 42 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions.

Some of Richardson’s other offers that weren’t in his initial top seven, included Air Force, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Nevada and Yale.

Richardson was part of a University team last year that finished 11-1 with a quarterfinal playoff appearance and overall final ranking of No. 5 in the MetroNews football poll.
