UPDATE: Turnpike worker killed in crash identified

Update 8.17.18:

CAMP CREEK, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police have announced Nathan Thompson, 32 of Kegley, as the Parkways Authority worker who died Thursday.

Richard Lambert, 21 of Kegley, and Ethan Kestner, 19 Princeton, are in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.

CAMP CREEK, W.Va. — One West Virginia Parkways Authority worker died and two others were critically injured in a wreck Thursday on Interstate 77.

The wreck happened around 3:42 p.m. near mile marker 23, when a double-trailer truck struck two West Virginia Parkways Authority vehicles parked on the side of the road as well as three employees.

The truck driver was not injured in the crash. Authorities have not released the victims’ identities.

West Virginia State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
