Winfield dominates 4th quarter to get past Morgantown, 58-46

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Winfield outscored Morgantown 20-6 in the fourth quarter to defeat the Mohigans 58-46 in the BW3 Morgantown Classic.

Morgantown dominated the first quarter, leading 21-12 after the opening eight minutes. But the Generals used an 11-0 fourth quarter run to take a lead they would not relinquish.

Mara McGrew led the Generals with 14 points. Z.Z. Russell and Emily Hudson each added 11 points for WHS.

Morgantown’s Kaitlyn Ammons led all scorers with 19 points while Sydni Clawges added 15.

The Generals (6-1) will face Fairmont Senior Saturday while the Mohigans (3-5) will host Chapmanville.
