CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A major announcement centering around a potential aviation school at Yeager Airport for Marshall University could be in the works as soon as next week.
Yeager Airport Director Terry Sayre said in a monthly board meeting for the airport on Wednesday that there could be an announcement next week by Marshall.
“I don’t want to steal any of Marshall’s thunder so we will wait to see what Marshall has to say next week,” he said. “I am hoping they are going to have an announcement.”
Marshall University President Jerome Gilbert was recently in Utah, visiting the aviation program at Southern Utah University.

Marshall University and Yeager Airport agreed to look at the possibility of starting an aviation school in May of last year.
