CROSS LANES, W.Va. — A man is behind bars and a woman is hospitalized after a Saturday afternoon head-on crash in Kanawha County.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said that the collision occurred at around 2 p.m. on Nightingale Lane in Cross Lanes. According to deputies, Joshua McCallister drove his vehicle across a double yellow line, leading to the wreck.
McCallister was arrested and faces four charges: driving left of center, driving without insurance, driving without a motor vehicle inspection sticker, and driving with defective equipment. Deputies said he could face more charges.
Deputies said the woman, in the other vehicle, was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Crews from state police, the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority (KCEAA), and the Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the scene.
