SHINNSTON, W.Va. — Bridgeport used an eight-run sixth inning to collect their 17th victory of the season, winning at Lincoln 16-8 Tuesday afternoon.
In addition to their sixth inning outburst, the Indians also had four-run frames in the first and third innings. The 16-run performance is tied for their second-most runs scored in a game this season. Drew Harbert sparked the sixth inning rally with a 3-run homer.
Payton Hawkins and Hunter Moore each hit 3-run home runs for the Cougars in the first and second innings, respectively. Moore’s homer gave the Cougars an early 6-4 lead.
Trey Pancake picked up the win in relief for Bridgeport. He allowed two runs — one earned — in the final five innings of the game. The Cougars (14-8) and the No. 1 Indians (17-2) will conclude their regular season series next Tuesday at BHS.
