OAK HILL, W.Va. — A Fayette County man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted and stabbed his 80-year-old mother, during a domestic dispute.
According to Sheriff Mike Fridley, deputies were dispatched to a home on Summerlee Road in Oak Hill, following a 911 hang-up call. Officers found the victim inside the residence. She initially was taken to Plateau Medical Center and later was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center. The extent of her injuries was not disclosed.
The suspect, Ronald Nelson Massey, 47, was detained at the scene.
Fridley said charges will be announced after interviews with witnesses are completed.
