Reality TV star Alexis Eddy found dead in Marion County

MANNINGTON, W.Va. — West Virginia native and former contestant on the MTV reality show “Are You the One?” Alexis Eddy was found dead Thursday morning just before 7 o’clock in her mother’s home in Mannington.

Police Chief Brian Stewart told MetroNews family members had been giving Eddy, 23, CPR when the 911 call came in.

“Shortly before 7 a.m. we had a call about a cardiac arrest in Mannington,” Stewart said. “She was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Because of the active investigation Stewart was not able to provide additional details but did talk about the family.

“We have not had a history with Alexis and her family are really good people,” Stewart said.

Eddy had been very open about her struggles with substance abuse. In late September, she posted a photo taken with her father stating they had both been sober for two years.

TMZ reported Eddy arrived at her mother’s house at 11 p.m. Wednesday and seemed fine.

The death remains under investigation.

Eddy was on the “Are You the One?” dating reality show in 2017.
