MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University officials on Tuesday provided more details about what the upcoming fall semester schedules at its three campuses will be.
Classes at the Beckley and Keyser campuses will begin Aug. 19, while courses in Morgantown will begin Aug. 26. Some online and some professional programs will begin Aug. 19.
Freshman and graduate students will be allowed on campus as part of the university’s efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus amid the international pandemic.
Registration for classes at the Morgantown campus will begin Aug. 17, and classes will take place on campus between Aug. 19 and Nov. 24. The fall recess period will begin Nov. 25.
The week of Nov. 30 will be a review week, and final exams will take place from Dec. 7 through Dec. 11. Review sessions and tests will take place virtually.
For classes that begin Aug. 26, the registration period will be Aug. 24. The final day of instruction will be Nov. 24, and courses will follow a similar schedule regarding the review period and exams.
A virtual commencement ceremony will take place on Dec. 19.
Students will be allowed to return to campus on Jan. 15, 2021 to begin registration for the spring semester.
Students and faculty will have to complete a coronavirus module by Aug. 22. Students who do not complete the review will be fined $250, while staff may be disciplined.
