Deaths reported after apparent carbon monoxide poisoning

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Apparent carbon monoxide poisoning claimed the lives of two people and a dog in Cabell County Friday.

Deputies with the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the parking lot of Eastern Heights Shopping Plaza along U.S. Route 60 near Huntington Friday morning. Sheriff Chuck Zerkle said the bodies were found inside a van parked in the parking lot.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Temperatures were in the high teens and lower 20s Friday morning.
