MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Poca guard Isaac McKneely has secured another significant honor from his outstanding junior season. The University of Virginia commit has been named the Gatorade West Virginia Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

McKneely was previously named the Bill Evans Award winner by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association, awarded to the state’s most outstanding player. He is also the captain of the Class AA first-team roster. McKneely averaged 23 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game this season. The Dots finished as the state runner-up in Class AA.
McKneely is the second Poca player in the last four seasons to earn the Gatorade Player of the Year honor. Luke Frampton claimed the award in the 2016-2017 season.
