Fatalities reported in Interstate 81 crash

SPRING MILLS, W.Va. — Reports said two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on busy Interstate 81 in Berkeley County Thursday morning.

The chain-reaction crash happened in the southbound lanes near the Spring Mills exit at about 7:15 a.m. There were two cars and a tractor-trailer involved. There was also entrapment.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash. The names of those involved were not immediately released.

Interstate 81 wasn’t totally reopened until about 2 p.m. Thursday.
