Truck driver arrested in I-81 shooting death

MARLOWE, W.Va. — Berkeley County Sheriff Nathan Harmon says a tractor trailer driver is in custody following the shooting death of another truck driver that followed a traffic incident on I-81.

It happened Tuesday morning near Marlowe at the 23 mile marker northbound.

Following the incident, the driver fled the area and traveled into Maryland.

Sheriff Harmon did not release the name of the man in custody, but as the event unfolded Tuesday, Harmon described the suspect driver as a black male traveling in a maroon truck with an orange trailer.

The victim’s name has also not been released.
