Princeton man dies in shooting, now investigated as homicide

PRINCETON, W.Va. — A man who was shot in Princeton Wednesday night has died, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.

Jaydon Brown, 23, of Princeton, died at Charleston Area Medical Center at around 1 a.m. Thursday.

Deputies said Brown’s death is now being investigated as a homicide.

The shooting happened outside the Pepperidge Apartments off Bratton Avenue near Princeton just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. Brown was found lying on the sidewalk outside and was taken to Princeton Community Hospital where he was later transported to CAMC.

No arrests have been made. Deputies are searching for possible suspects.
