CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The National Weather has placed most of the state under a special weather statement for Friday afternoon with gusts forecasted in the 20-30 mph range.
The special statement that covers all but the northern panhandle says:

“Very dry air, gusty winds resulting in an Elevated Fire Danger this afternoon into the early evening. Humidity will be low & winds are expected to be around 20-30 mph. Remember, WV law prohibits burning in the Spring from 7am to 5pm through May 31,” the weather service said.
Northern panhandle counties are under a wind advisory.
Clouds are expected to move into the state by Friday night with rain in the forecast for some areas Saturday morning.
The cold front will bring chillier but drier conditions for Easter Sunday when it’s expected to be mostly sunny and cool with afternoon highs in the mid-50s.
Rain is in the forecast for Monday.
