West Virginia man identified as murder victim at Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A West Virginian has been identified as a murder victim in a shooting from last weekend at Myrtle Beach. The Horry County, South Carolina Coroner’s office has identified the victim as Joshua Wilson, 40, of Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Wilson died of multiple gunshot wounds after an early morning shooing last week in Myrtle Beach.

Police responded to a call of multiple shots fired and en route to the call came across a car wreck. Wilson was at the wheel of the wrecked vehicle and had been shot multiple times. He died of his wounds early Sunday morning.

Police arrested Quentin Ahmad Jean, 35, of Myrtle Beach. He faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He had originally been charged with attempted murder, but those charges were increased when Wilson died.

Investigators in South Carolina have not indicated a motive for the shooting.
