CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Active COVID-19 cases in West Virginia on Wednesday are down from Tuesday’s report.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) confirmed 2,780 active COVID-19 cases statewide Wednesday. Coronavirus cases are still up from last week’s report, however, coming in at 850 more cases.
There have been eight deaths reported since Tuesday, with a total of 7,099 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
DHHR has confirmed the deaths of an 83-year old male from Jefferson County, an 86-year old male from Nicholas County, a 72-year old female from Fayette County, an 82-year old female from Greenbrier County, an 84-year old male from Raleigh County, a 94-year old male from Clay County, a 75-year old male from Greenbrier County, and an 85-year old female from Mineral County.
Hospitalizations statewide rose from 312 to 330 Wednesday.
