New outpatient addiction care option coming to Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Wise Path Recovery Centers will open an outpatient addiction treatment center in Morgantown this week.

The facility is managed by Ascension Recovery Services and is located in Suite 100 of 2195 Cheat Road, according to Joey Ferguson, Territory Manager for Ascension Recovery Services.

The grand opening is Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Six hundred people will be able to receive outpatient services at our facility, so that’s 600 families that are impacted,” Ferguson said. “We’re going to be able to help a lot of people without the luck of finding a rehab for an alcoholic in this area.”

The outpatient program gives people that have completed a 28-day detox program reinforcement as they continue in recovery. The program allows people to make contributions in the community while remaining in treatment.

“To come and get treatment while they’re also finding employment, or in school whatever the individual needs might be,” Ferguson said. “This is like three hours a day, three times a week.”

The mission of Ascension Recovery Services is to provide comprehensive, quality care to those suffering from substance abuse disorder. The company focus is on uninsured, underinsured and underserved populations.

“They will do group therapy with a licensed therapist and they will also do one-on-one sessions with a licensed therapist,” Ferguson said.

This is the second type of center opened by Ascension Recovery Services in the state- that first was opened about one week ago in Charleston. According to Ferguson, Wise Path will open another location locally before the end of the year.

“Wise Path is going to be opening a detox and residential treatment center in Westover,” Ferguson said. “So, about one month from now we’ll be offering the higher level of care.”
