MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A big celebration is scheduled in Martinsburg tonight to celebrate the beginning of 2023.
Main Street Martinsburg and Shepherd University Martinsburg Center invite residents to watch the Apple drop at Martinsburg Town Square.
“We’re going to have the Square blocked off and you can come down from 4 to 6,” Main Street Martinsburg Director Robby Blair told the Panhandle News Network. “Our friends over at Orr’s Farm Market bring some apples and some Apple Cider donuts and then the fine folks at Shepherd University at Martinsburg Center have a ton of really fund noise-makers for kids to make their presence known as we turn the page into the new year.”
The event is specifically intended for small children and families to experience the festivities of New Year’s Eve without staying awake until midnight.
There is some rain in the forecast. If the weather turns bad, the event will turn virtual.
