Group of U.S. Senators visit Clarksburg FBI complex

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Five U.S. Senators were in Clarksburg Thursday for a visit to the FBI Center.

Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia were joined by Senators John Cornyn of Texas, Christopher Murphy of Connecticut and Thom Tillis of North Carolina.

The group joined Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and Director Christopher Wray for a visit of the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division.

The senators received a series of briefings and demonstrations about recent changes to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) following legislation passed by Congress.

The senators were also briefed on the work of the National Threat Operations Center,
