Larger reward offered by U.S. Marshals for information on wanted man

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — U.S. Marshals have upped the reward for information presented that leads to the arrest of wanted West Virginia man Kenneth Alan Stout.

The combined reward offered by the U.S. Marshal Service and CrimeStoppers West Virginia is now up to $15,000.

Stout is wanted for the first-degree murder of Barbara Baker from April 1 in McDowell County. He’s been on the run since.

U.S. Marshals said earlier this week they believe Stout could be going after religious communities acting as a handyman or contractor and asking for financial support.

Stout, 63, is described to be a white man, standing 5 feet 7 inches, weighing around 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and is mostly bald. Marshals said his right arm and hand are noticeably scarred.

He was last seen in Dillon County, South Carolina. It’s believed Stout is a frequent visitor in the Jacksonville, Florida; Bristol, Tennessee; and the Kingsland, Georgia, areas.

Anyone with information on Stout’s current location is urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-WANTED-2 or the USMS Southern District of West Virginia at (304) 347-5136.

Tips may be submitted via the USMS Tips App or can be emailed to the CUFFED Task Force Tip Hotline at USMS88TIPS@usdoj.gov, as well as at www.crimestopperswv.com.
