Former FBI agent sentenced in minor soliciting case

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A former FBI agent has been sentenced for soliciting a minor in Harrison County Circuit Court.

Dale Cheuvront was sentenced to six months home confinement, four years of supervised probation and 50 hours of community service.

Judge Christopher McCarthy said he based his sentence on Cheuvront being low-risk.  Cheuvront’s requested alternative sentencing because he had no prior criminal record and never made arrangements to meet the person, whom he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

Cheuvront was originally arrested in August 2020.
