LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. — A former Logan County business owner arrested last year on sexual assault and child pornography charges is facing additional charges.
According to a filing in Logan County Circuit Court this week, Michael Dean Cline, 48, has been indicted on charges of distribution and exhibition of photos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, the use of minors in filming sexually explicit conduct and soliciting a minor using a computer.
Cline is accused of downloading photos of a 17-year-old girl involved in “sadomasochistic abuse, including bondage, torture and mutilation.” The photos, which are from 2015 and 2016, show a girl “chained to a wall as part of a violent sexual encounter,” court documents show.
In November 2018, Cline allegedly used a computer to acquire photos showing explicit photos of a 17-year-old girl. It’s also alleged that Cline filmed the teen during a sexual encounter on his bed.
West Virginia State Police raided the Hot Cup coffee shop in Logan County in February 2023. Cline was arrested then and charged with one count each of first-degree and second-degree sexual assault and two counts of distributing and possessing child pornography. He was indicted on those charges in May.
