CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The National Weather Service said there was a fifth tornado in West Virginia during last Tuesday’s storm.
The tornado was on 5th Street in Huntington near the Cabell-Wayne county line. An NWS storm survey team is scheduled to be on site Monday to get a closer look.
The NWS had previously confirmed three tornadoes in Kanawha County (St. Albans, Cross Lanes, Quick) and one in Fayette County, which devastated the community of Lavista.
The NWS said it plans on doing additional survey visits next week.
