West Virginia child dies in Myrtle Beach drowning

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A two-year-old girl from Doddridge County is dead following a family vacation to Myrtle Beach.

Authorities said Lylah Dillon, of New Milton, was pulled from a lazy river attraction Sunday evening. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.

An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.

It was the second death in connection with an out-of-state drowning involving a West Virginian in recent days.  A Logan County man died last month at Daytona Beach after being caught in a rip tide.
