Union service workers at Cabell Huntington Hospital approve new contract

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Union service workers at Cabell Huntington Hospital have reached a new three-year collective bargaining agreement with the hospital.

Members of SEIU/District 1199 approved the contract this week.

Cabell Huntington, which is a member of the Marshall Health Network, said the agreement “reflects the commitment and dedication of both the CHH leadership and SEIU 1199 negotiating committees to build a positive working relationship and ensure a beneficial contract for all involved.”

CHH COO Tim Martin said the new deal lays a strong foundation heading into the hospital’s future.

“I appreciate the hard work and effort each team showed throughout our discussions, and I am confident in our position as employer of choice in the region,” Martin said.

SEIU/District 1199 represents workers in various positions including housekeeping, food service, maintenance and engineering, business office departments as well as licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certain technicians in radiology, pharmacy and perioperative services.
