MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A third West Virginia native has returned home this offseason to play for Rich Rodriguez. Parkersburg South High School alumnus Cyrus Traugh announced on Sunday morning that he has verbally committed to play for the Mountaineers.

Martinsburg graduates Jarod Bowie and Jacob Barrick recently announced their verbal commitments to transfer from Jacksonville State to WVU.
Traugh won the Randy Moss Award, presented to the top high school wide receiver in West Virginia, in his senior season of 2022. He reeled in 84 passes for 1,200 yards and 19 touchdowns in helping the Patriots to a 12-2 season and a berth in the Class AAA state championship game.
Traugh signed with FCS program Youngstown State out of high school and he played two seasons for the Penguins. After playing in two games during his true freshman season, Traugh caught 36 passes for 409 yards and five touchdowns this fall. His best performance came on September 21 at Pittsburgh. Traugh caught four passes for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Panthers.
He caught at least one pass in all twelve games in 2024 and he handled punt return duties for the Penguins.
After redshirting in 2023, Traugh has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
