WEST UNION, W.Va. — A driver has been charged in connection with a fatal wreck that happened last month in Doddridge County.

Louis Oswalt (WVRJA)

State police have charged Louis Oswalt, 46, with DUI causing death.

The two-vehicle collision happened at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and state Route 18 on March 18. Troopers said Oswalt ran a red light and hit a car driven by Angie Campbell.

Campbell was taken to United Hospital Center and later transferred to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown where she died on April 4.

Troopers said they found marijuana and several bottles of prescription pills in Oswalt’s car and he tested positive for buprenorphine, benzodiazepines, and cannabinoids.

Oswalt is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bail.
