Fairmont tree trimming accident claims man’s life

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A 65-yearold man has been killed in a Fairmont tree trimming accident, according to deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

Monday around 11:30 a.m. the accident was reported on Ridgeview Drive, off Big Tree Drive.

Jackie James Hess, Jr., was trimming pine trees when he fell out of the tree.

EMS workers responded and a HealthNet helicopter was dispatched, but Hess died at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
