Morrisey: State workers get half day off for Good Friday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Patrick Morrisey is giving state workers a half day off Friday for Good Friday.

“Good Friday is a day of reflection and prayer, and I am encouraging West Virginians to take time to be with their family and church community,” Morrisey said.

The governor’s proclamation applies only to state workers.

“It also excludes state employees who may be called upon to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of West Virginia’s citizenry,” the governor’s office said.
