Upshur County man jailed for threatening parents and children

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — An Upshur County man is behind bars after the FBI was alerted to disturbing posts he placed on a social media account.

Andrew Hitt, 24, of Buckhannon was taken into custody this week and charged with making terroristic threats.

The posts were made on the social media platform Discord on Hitt’s account in which he shared thought of killing his parents as well as students at a nearby elementary school. According to investigators these were the two most sensational posts which prompted their involvement.

“I could even kill my parents and smear their blood all over the walls”

“I live next to a school… I have had thoughts of how easy it would be to snipe those kids off one by one from my yard.”

He was arrested this week at his Teter Road home near Buckhannon and is jailed in lieu of $250,000 bond.
