MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One of West Virginia’s top high school football players is getting an early start on his college football career. Princeton defensive lineman and running back Daniel Jennings intends to reclassify for the Class of 2025 and enroll at Penn State.
Tyler Jackson of Play Sheet Sports was first to report the move.
Jennings posted a message on social media Friday to thank the Princeton community:
As I prepare to move on to new adventures, I want to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation for the incredible journey I’ve had at PSHS. The lessons learned, friendships formed, and memories created here will always hold a special place in my heart.🦁💙

Jennings committed to play at Penn State in July of 2024. After starting his prep career at Graham High School in Virginia, Jennings returned home to play his junior season at Princeton last fall. He helped the Tigers to a 12-1 season and an appearance in the Class AAA semifinals. Jennings rushed for 1,373 yards and 23 touchdowns in the 2024 season. He also collected 38 tackles (12.5 for loss) and 10 sacks in a Class AAA first-team All-State season.
