WELLSBURG, W.Va. — A Friday shooting in Brooke County left one person dead and a second in custody.
Brooke County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home on Fowler’s Hill Road near Wellsburg. Deputies arrived to find one person shot and detained the second individual who was eventually taken into custody.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The State Police Crime Scene Unit spent several hours on the scene Friday evening collecting evidence.
The names of the victim and the suspect are being withheld at this time. Police say the investigation continues.
