One dead following head on collision in Logan County

LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. –An investigation is underway after a Thursday morning car crash left one dead in Logan County.

Andrew Perry, 25, of Logan died after the Chevrolet Cobalt he was driving struck a Kenworth tractor trailer in a head-on style collision, which caused Perry to be ejected from the car.

The incident happened on U.S. Route 119 Southbound near Airport Road around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to deputies, aid was given to Perry on the scene before he was transported to Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment. Later he was taken to CAMC, where he died from severe injuries suffered in the crash.

The driver of the Kenworth tractor trailer was not injured.
