KEYSER, W.Va. — Approximately 100 residents were evacuated from Keyser Healthcare Center after a Saturday night fire call.

Reports indicate three residents were hospitalized for smoke inhalation and the remaining of those evacuated had to be taken to another location until the building could be cleared.
Mineral County Commissioner Dutch Staggs praised the work of the Keyser community in a Facebook post.
“WOW!!! What a coordinated effort to move over 100 patients out of the nursing with most going to Keyser Fire Station #2. This county and the surrounding counties have shown again how our community can pull together to help people in need,” Staggs said. “Not only is there all of the Fire, EMS, deputies, and nurses but it has to be over 100 volunteers working together to take care of these people.”
Further details were unavailable Sunday.
