GLENVILLE, W.Va. — Glenville State University is in search of its next head football coach, announcing it will not renew the contract of Mike Kellar.
The Pioneers finished 6-5 this season, Kellar’s seventh, in a tie for third place in the Mountain East Conference. It was the fourth consecutive winning season for the program.
Kellar, a Shinnston native, completes his tenure with a record of 36-32 since being hired ahead of the 2019 season. Including stints at Concord and Lenoir-Rhyne, he holds career record of 87-67.
“We thank Coach Kellar for his years of service here at Glenville,” Director of Athletics Jesse Skiles said in a release. “Institutionally, we are going in a different direction with the football program at this time. We wish him the best moving forward.”
According to the release, a national search for Kellar’s replacement is underway.
