CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A St. Albans man will spend more than 17 years in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking organization that operated in the Charleston area.
Antonio Lamar Jeffries, 36, was sentenced to 17 years and six months behind bars for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. According to court documents and statements made in court, Jeffries conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine between November 2022 and March 2023.
On February 4, 2023. Jeffries arranged a meeting between a co-conspirator and his supplier at the Mercer Mall in Bluefield. Following the exchange, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop on the co-conspirators’ vehicle and seized approximately 3.1 kilograms of methamphetamine.
Jeffries admitted he planned to distribute some of that methamphetamine and allow the co-conspirator to keep the rest.
At the time of the offense, Jeffries was serving supervised release following his 2011 conviction for possession with intent to distribute 280 grams or more of cocaine base.
