KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. –A second person is facing charges in connection to a deadly shooting in Charleston over the weekend.
Brennon Michael Adkins, 25, of St. Albans has been charged with first- and second-degree murder of Joshua Walls, 31. Jack Rolfe, 33, has also been charged in his Walls’ death.
According to a criminal complaint, Charleston police were dispatched to a home on Main Street Sunday morning. Police discovered Walls with two gunshot wounds to his torso. Walls was taken to CAMC General Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The complaint stated that police did a review of Walls phone and found Rolfe as a contact. Whenever they called Rolfe, he said he didn’t shoot Walls. However, he was later taken into custody after he turned himself in on Tuesday.
Rolfe, during an interview, stated that Adkins had been the one to shoot Walls.
Surveillance footage shows two individuals entering the home and two gunshot wounds could be heard later on the same footage. The complaint stated that Rolfe claimed he had planned to get $40 from Walls and that Adkins wanted to meet with him about synthetic marijuana. An argument between the men turned violent.
Adkins is currently being held in the Western Regional Jail and Rolfe remains at South Central Regional Jail. Both are being held with no bond.
