CHARLESTON, W.Va. –The 2026 West Virginia Tourism Guide is now available to order.

Governor Patrick Morrisey, joined by Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby, lawmakers, and state tourism partners, unveiled the state’s official travel magazine Wednesday.
Morrisey said this year’s guide highlights what West Virginia has to offer.
“It obviously talks a lot about our rich history and our outdoor recreation,” he said. “It really features some of our amazing businesses, and the local highlights that are in the state and just talks about everything that makes West Virginia truly special.”
Ruby said the guides have been available for pre-order for the past month, and the state has received 85,874 orders so far.
She said this number exceeds last year’s pre-order total.
“I was really proud of last year’s numbers, and this is a 450 percent increase over last years, so we are very very excited,” Ruby said.
She expressed gratitude to everyone involved in producing the guides, noting that they put their all into capturing the essence of West Virginia.
“This vacation guide is a labor of love every year,” Ruby said. “I want to give a huge shoutout to our team, PR director Lauren who leads this, Lindsey, everyone in the team works on this every year.”

She said the guide features 112 pages highlighting West Virginia’s scenery and history.
Officials also highlighted tourism numbers from 2025. The industry brought in $9.1 billion and drew 77 million visitors statewide. October was the fastest-growing month, with 270,000 people visiting the Gorge, up from 215,000 in October 2024.
Morrisey said the state needs to continue that momentum this year by building on its current efforts.
“It’s that consistency, it’s that focus even when you’re doing well to get up the next day, to do the same thing the next year, but also staying on top of the trends that are needed whether it’s with technology, new types of training, finding ways to bring new workers into the state who care about hospitality, that’s how we’re going to continue to make progress,” he said.
