BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — A Buffalo, New York man has been arrested for attempting to run a scam in Upshur County.

Sheriff Mike Coffman said his department was notified of the scam during a fraud investigation at a local bank. The information was relayed to the state Attorney General’s office investigators.
The Sheriff’s deputies were able to make contact with the scammers and arrange a money drop. The first scheduled meeting was to have been Friday, but the scammers postponed the pickup until Saturday morning. When they arrived, Coffman and his chief deputy waited nearby and Sgt. Tyler Gordon of the Sheriff’s Department made contact with Naymat Ulla, 31, of Buffalo, New York. He was arrested without incident and is now in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail facing a range of felony charges in lieu of $650,000 bond.
When arrested, deputies found $130,000 in cash, gold coins, and electronic devices in his possession.
