Capito responds to Bondi’s moving on

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito responded Thursday after President Donald Trump announced that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi is taking a job in the private sector.

“Thank you to Pam Bondi for her dedicated service to our country. Throughout her tenure, she showed dedication to keeping our communities safe and fighting the drug crisis, which has deeply impacted West Virginia,” Capito said. I’d also like to congratulate Todd Blanche on stepping into this important acting role. I look forward to working together and wish him the very best as he takes on this responsibility.” –

Trump made a social media post announcing the change.

“We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future,” Trump posted.

Blanch is Trump’s former personal attorney. He’s been the deputy attorney general. His new role is acting attorney general.
