BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. — The Tri-County Alzheimer’s Association and the Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department invite the public to an event to raise funds and awareness.
Alzheimer’s Association West Virginia Chapter Board Chair Debbie Spiker said the event will start at the Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department at 8 a.m. Saturday with breakfast served by first responders. All proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the fire department.
“We get to enjoy the outdoors and beauty of Preston County,” Spiker said. “We have a Ride to Remember, an ATV, UTV, motocross bike, or the Jeep you don’t mind scratching up on about 50 miles of trails.”
The cost to participate in the ride is $20 per vehicle and includes around 50 miles of trails. The course does have some challenging areas, but in most cases there are alternate routes for less experienced riders. The ride is for riders of all skill levels.
“We’ll start at about 8 a.m. with breakfast and registration at the Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department,” Spiker said. The first buggy out will be at 9 a.m., and the last one will leave around 11 a.m. ”
Spiker said for the less experienced riders, they will have a guided tour option available.
“We have a guided tour that will start at 10 a.m. for those folks that would rather have some direction along the way,” Spiker said. “We are excited for a beautiful day and lots of buggies.”
Riders of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to come for a good time and support a great cause.
“The Tri-County area represents the Preston, Marion, and Monongalia counties,” Spiker said. “We look forward to working with people in those markets about the services that are provided and to raise awareness.”
