Huntington police charge woman after she refused to stop

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A woman is in custody after crashing his vehicle shortly after a police pursuit in Huntington.

Huntington police said an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle being driven by Janayah Skaggs, 24, of Huntington, at about 1:45 a.m. Friday when the officer noticed he was driving with his headlights off and committing numerous traffic violations.

Police said Skaggs refused to stop her vehicle and a pursuit began. Police called off the pursuit a few minutes later but then learned of a crash near the intersection of 20th Street and 8th Avenue. Police said Skaggs had crashed her vehicle into a sign.

Skaggs is charged with felony fleeing in a vehicle while DUI, driving on a suspended license, and multiple traffic control device violations.
