Carson Jeffers, 62, was already convicted of second-degree murder and has now been indicted on a first-degree murder charge in a separate case. The grand jury indicted him this week in connection with the August 2025 death of Michael Christian. The shooting happened last August on the city’s 6th Avenue.

Jeffers had previously been convicted on the charge of second-degree murder in Cabell County Circuit Court.

Along with the new murder charges, Jeffers is also charged with presentment of a firearm and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
