St. Albans man sentenced for sex crimes against daughter

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — A Kanawha County man was sentenced to at least 45 years in prison after he was convicted of sexually abusing his daughter.

Clifford Fronda

Authorities said Clifford Fronda, 37, of St. Albans, will spend 45 to 115 years in jail followed by 50 years of supervised release for sex crimes.

Fronda pleaded guilty in March to four charges of second-degree sexual assault and one count of incest.

Court documents said that authorities learned of Fronda’s actions through an interview with a minor. According to a release, a detective from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s office was at the interview and heard the victim come forward with allegations that her father — Fronda — had sexually abused her multiple times over a two-year span.

Court documents said Fronda admitted to some of the accusations during a conversation with the detective. Fronda was promptly arrested and charged with sexual abuse.

Kanawha County Circuit Judge Richard Lindsay presided over the case.
